South Africa to France
Third Country ?
December 4, 2020
I am South African and my fiance is French. We were due to get married in June 2020 in France, but instead, due to Covid-19, were separated on different continents for nine months. When South Africa opened international borders in October, I was able to prove a return flight and could apply for the ''Love is not Tourism'' exemption via the French Consulate to obtain a Laissez Passer (LP letter) for me to travel to France. We had to create a ''love folder'' with over 200 pages of documents and proof of our five year relationship! I was issued with the LP letter and after a negative Covid-19 test, I could travel to France to be reunited with my fiance! We are getting married later this month and will have a celebration with our nearest and dearest when the world is open for travel and it is safe to do so again! Love truly wins. Grit, grace and never giving up. We could not have done this without the support and information on the ''Love is not Tourism France'' facebook group!
