Hello everyone! I thought I would share some amazing news with this page because you all have helped us keep the faith through this crazy year!! My Italian boyfriend Giuseppe and I (USA) have finally made it! It has been a very long year of waiting, wishing, hoping for something to work out to meet each other another in person, but I am happy to say we have just spent one month of holiday togetheršŸ¤©

Since the US borders are completely closed to European visitors, I had tried to visit the UK from the USA about two months ago because Giuseppe currently lives there, but was unable to pass the border control because they did not believe my intentions of being a visitor in their country for a short time. My mistake was that I did not have a return ticket because I was going to buy one once I had spent some time there. So just some advice for you all, donĀ“t make the same mistake I did because they held me over night in a detention center, took my phone from me, and gave me little to no information about what was happening!

I had also tried to apply for a visitor visa for the UK after this experience to increase my chances of getting into the country for a few months, but nonetheless it got denied because of some discrepancies about my new job... long story short, do your research WELL before making any steps to try to even visit the UK during this time.

On a lighter note, after me being denied twice, we decided to look into other countries we could visit for a short time without problems. After overnight flights and travel through various airports, we separately landed in Tirana, Albania and both passed the border with flying colors! We were in an ecstatic shock to say the leastšŸ˜…šŸ˜Albania is a beautiful country with friendly people and flavorful cuisine, so you can say we have been pleasantly surprised throughout our time here so far.

Everything has worked out in the best way possible and we couldnĀ“t be more grateful to be sharing this whole month together at last. We have been in a relationship for almost a year and half, so my advice to all of you is DONĀ“T GIVE UP HOPE. Anything is possible if your entire mind and heart are into what youĀ“re striving for. Stay focused and in faith, this will not last forever. For now, we say ciao <3 peace always and stay well!
